Provide your member details and get pre-approved for lactation consultations. If you're on this page you've likely completed this step!

Confirm Your Eligibility

Log into the Anthem Website or Sydney Health app using the links below in "Choose How to Enroll." If you can register for Building Healthy Families, you're eligible!

Receive Your Welcome Email

Once enrolled, Wildflower Health will email you with approval confirmation and instructions to schedule your consultation with a lactation expert of your choice.

  4. You will be asked questions about your health journey to complete enrollment in the program

I have a lactation consultant:

  • Ask your lactation consultant for the Anthem lactation benefit pre-check form
  • After completing that Anthem lactation benefit pre-check form, you will either be directed to enroll in Anthem Building Healthy Families OR you will be able to schedule with your chosen lactation consultant immediately
  • If you are directed to enroll in Anthem Building Healthy Families, follow the steps above for the Sydney app or the Anthem website. Once you've successfully completed enrollment in Building Healthy Families you will get a confirmation email from Wildflower Health lactation to schedule your first virtual appointment with your chosen lactation consultant.
 

New patients:

If you're just getting started with your breastfeeding journey and you do not have a lactation consultant, make sure you're signed up for and logged in to the Anthem Building Healthy Families. You can learn more in Resources → Anthem Breastfeeding Support with Virtual Appointments.

Ask your employer or Anthem Customer Support. Check for the phone number on your Anthem member ID card.

Select Anthem commercial health plan members are eligible for no-cost virtual lactation support. You can find out more after enrolling in your free Anthem Building Healthy Families account.

An IBCLC, or International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, is a healthcare professional with the highest level of certification in breastfeeding and lactation care. They are trained to provide expert support for all lactation issues, from prenatal preparation to weaning, and can help with a wide range of concerns including latching problems, milk supply issues, and pumping. Certification requires specific health science education, extensive clinical hours, and passing a comprehensive board exam administered by the International Board of Lactation Consultant.

Your maternity journey is special, and Wildflower Health is here to support you every step of the way. From mobile apps and Health Advocates to lactation support and doula care, we offer a range of resources to make things easier. We're dedicated to providing a simpler, more effective healthcare experience that's as unique as you are. To make the program available to you and others, Anthem entered into a service agreement with Wildflower Health.
